We are fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK

We’re taking part in The Big Step Forward to transform the future for those affected by pancreatic cancer.

It is 10 years since Christine Baker, mum to David & Nana to Daniel, Nathan, Josh & Holly, passed away at the age of 70 from Pancreatic Cancer. 

Christine had worked as a Nurse and did not drink or smoke and seemed in the best of health until she woke up one day in April 2014 to find her skin jaundiced and as a result was admitted to Hospital. 

Within a few days she had been given the devastating news that she had inoperable pancreatic cancer and within three months, on July 13th 2014, had passed away. 

It therefore seems fitting that on the 10th Anniversary of her death, David,  Daniel, Nathan, Josh and Holly, should do this fundraising walk. We hope to walk approximately 14 miles from Chesterfield to Chatsworth House,  Derbyshire, one of her favourite places, in her memory. 

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. 

The funds we raise will enable Pancreatic Cancer UK’s nurses to continue to be there for those affected by pancreatic cancer now and fund research to detect early, treat better and transform care.

Your kind donation will have the power to make that possible.  

Cancer can be devastating and changes lives in a second.

Together, we can step up and give hope to the unfortunate ones affected by this cancer.
