Well today's the day

The day has finally come around. The day we wall with pride up roseberry topping with Debbie, in memory of John. Supporting her on this walk and where we will raise a glass for him.  Keep your eye on the pace for updates throughout the day and wish us luck as we climb despite the rain 

Its getting closer.

Well we're now only 2 weeks away from our walk. Keep an eye on our page on 13th July for a blog of updates and plenty of photos of johns warriors and our trek

We are so close to our target and I sincerely appreciate all the help we have been given to get there.

I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their support so far whether it be to sponsor us or join our team. I cannot wait to get that photo at the top of Roseberry Topping of us all in purple tshirts and a glass of fizz in our hands as we raise a glass in memory of John. There is also a very poignant reason for this trek as members of our team and a lot of our sponsors are aware of. It doesnt feel quite right to share that yet as I am not sure it has been shared with family members yet. Fair to say as we announced the reason with our team yesterday there were tears in eyes. I do want to say to Debbie that I think I can speak for our entire team that we are honoured to take part in this with you and your reasons for the trek and i bet there wont be a dry eye in the house there either, I said in the last post made on this page that you are not alone in this and never will be, We are all here to join you in this. Debbie you're not alone

Almost a year ago a friend of mine and her husband had been given the devastating news that he had pancreatic cancer and that treatment wouldn't really make a difference. 
She then decided that she wanted to climb up roseberry topping, when mentioned at the slimming world group we attend it was met with a lot of enthusiasm of us all doing it together. 
Fast forward a week and I stumbled across this event for pancreatic cancer, incidentally the same cancer John had so we decided to complete the walk not only to help save other families from going through the same heartache but also in celebration of johns life with him in our hearts pushing us on to the top but also to show Debbie that she is never alone.

We are fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK

We’re taking part in The Big Step Forward to transform the future for those affected by pancreatic cancer.

It’s unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. 

The funds we raise will enable Pancreatic Cancer UK’s nurses to continue to be there for those affected by pancreatic cancer now and fund research to detect early, treat better and transform care.

Your kind donation will have the power to make that possible.  

Together, we can step up and stamp out this brutal cancer.
