This one's for you Mum (part 2)!
As many of you will know, just over a year ago my mum was diagnosed with Pancreatic cancer. It was a shock to us all that someone so healthy and active could be dealt such a hand but like the absolute trouper that she is, enduring radiotheraphy and chemotherapy, I am so glad to see her responding to treatment and long may it continue.
She is probably one of the strongest, hard working, and giving people that I know and has given so much of her life to saving the lives of others, it just doesn’t seem fair. A dedicated mother, grandmother, sister, doctor, and so much more.
I’m sure any of you that have met her would agree!
I am not a doctor. I don’t have answers. I don’t have a cure. Right now I just want to offer my love and support and help in any way that I can.
I am therefore taking part in The Big Step Forward to transform the future for those affected by pancreatic cancer. It is through the research they do, and the care they provide, people like my mum can carry on and beat this thing.
In Judaism, the number 18 is significant because is the numerical value of the Hebrew word for life. Since I cannot walk to the moon and back, I will therefore be walking 18km to raise money for PCUK.
The funds I raise will enable Pancreatic Cancer UK’s nurses to continue to be there for those affected by pancreatic cancer now and fund research to detect the cancer early, treat it better, and transform care. The money you donate will have the power to make that possible. Thank you.
