I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK
In May 2017 I was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, having had no symptoms other than a very slight weight loss and needing to burp when I was eating. Following chemotherapy and radiotherapy I had a whipple operation in October 2017. This was successful thanks to the staff at Christies and Manchester Royal Infirmary but complications occurred involving various procedures and further surgery.
I am now reasonable fit and intend walking 5 miles on 13th July for The Big Step Forward in an effort to raise funds for pancreatic cancer research. I am one of the few lucky ones who has survived this awful disease.
