Doing some good from our final goodbye to our lovely dad.

Our lovely, funny, strong and fit dad came home from work feeling a bit unwell in February. 5 weeks later he died after being diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. He was only 60 years old. Dad was a fighter and yet there was nothing he or any of us could do as the cancer had taken hold and spread to his liver.

Pancreatic cancer is awful. There are very few symptoms and more often than not it is caught too late. We need more research and a more targeted screening program to make a difference.

Dad was a proud Scotsman and we had a family holiday booked and cancelled there twice due to the Covid 19 Pandemic.  We had planned to climb Ben Nevis but dad never made it. In May we are going to take him home and climb Ben Nevis as a family to remember dad and spread his ashes.

As part of the climb we are raising money for Pancreatic Cancer. If you can spare anything to sponsor us on our final goodbye to our lovely dad, it will mean some good comes out of this awful situation. Please help if you can as every penny raised helps fund research and innovation in the detection of Pancreatic Cancer so that fewer people feel our loss in the future.

I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK

Pancreatic cancer is a tough one. Tough to diagnose, tough to treat, and tough to survive. Together, we can change that.

I am taking part in The Big Step Forward to take steps to transform the future for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer. Please support me and my fundraising.

Research breakthroughs give us hope and will save lives. The funds I raise will have the power to make that possible. Every step will support world-leading researchers to speed up diagnosis and improve treatments. By walking together, we can create change to save lives.
