I’m fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK

Next month I will be taking part in The Big Step Forward to transform the future for those affected by pancreatic cancer.

At Christmas my Mum was given the devastating news that she had been diagnosed with this horrible disease . 

There is no cure for Pancreatic Cancer and in my Mum’s case, is inoperable . 

To give her quality of life, she has undergone months of weekly chemotherapy and daily radiotherapy. 

Mum is one of the ‘lucky’ ones. More than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That’s why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more breakthroughs. More than hope. 

The funds I raise will enable Pancreatic Cancer UK’s nurses to continue to be there for those affected by pancreatic cancer now and fund research to detect early, treat better and transform care.

Together, we can step up and stamp out this brutal cancer.

I walked 12k/7.5 miles through places that mean a lot to me, especially when growing up. Happy memories shared with my Mum and more recently, with my husband & children. 
Now I’m off to put my feet up and have a glass of wine!
