We did it!

Last Saturday, we completed our walk for The Big Step Forward. We raised almost two and a half thousand pounds for Pancreatic Cancer UK. We hope this will make a huge difference and go towards research to help find treatment for this horrible disease.

We're fundraising for Pancreatic Cancer UK in memory of Lorraine

In August 2021, our amazing Mum, Lorraine, was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Just a few weeks earlier, she was working in a very physical job with no signs at all of what was to come. 

She began treatment and in October she was given a year to live, news which completely broke our hearts. 

Mum was tough though, and fought as hard as she could, despite the immense pain she was clearly in. She never complained or asked why her. She had so much she still wanted to do and desperately wanted more time to make memories with all her family, especially her three young granddaughters, including baby Grace Lorraine, born on 8th October.

Tragically, Mum passed away aged just 57 on 1st November 2021, less than 3 months after she was diagnosed.

Pancreatic cancer is a tough one. Tough to diagnose, tough to treat, and tough to survive. Together, we can change that.

Mum should have turned 58 years old on 14th July. As The Big Step Forward takes place so close to her birthday, we decided to participate as a family to take steps to transform the future for everyone affected by pancreatic cancer. Please support us if you can. Mum was someone who always helped others. I know she would have wanted us to do anything we could to prevent others having to endure the pain she went through.

Research breakthroughs give us hope and will save lives. The funds we raise will have the power to make that possible. Every step will support world-leading researchers to speed up diagnosis and improve treatments. By walking together, we can create change to save lives.
