In Memory of Roger

I am taking part in The Big Step Forward to fundraise for Pancreatic Cancer UK.

I am taking part in The Big Step Forward to increase awareness and raise essential funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK. The Big Step Forward event coincides with the one year anniversary since Roger passed away from this terrible disease on 05/07/2023. Instead of walking just on one day, I am participating in The Big Step Forward between 04/07 - 14-07. During that time I will be walking sections of the Pennine Way (which was a very memorable walk for Roger) where I will scatter some of Roger's ashes. I also have other walks planned when I will be raising awareness for Pancreatic Cancer UK. However my main challenge, instead of walking, is to run 13 miles on 06/07/24. This is because running is much more of a challenge to me than walking which I do as a regular activity. 

The charity Pancreatic Cancer is very important to me, and to others affected by pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is devastating to those diagnosed and to their family. So, any funds received, even the smallest donation, will help towards transforming the future for those affected by this dreadful cancer.

It is totally unacceptable that more than half of people diagnosed with the deadliest common cancer die within three months. That is why they need and deserve more. More research, more funding, more testing, more breakthroughs. More than hope and devastation.

The funds I, and those taking part, raise will enable Pancreatic Cancer UK’s nurses to continue to be there for those affected by pancreatic cancer now and fund research to detect this disease early, enable better treatment and transform care.
