Event Information

Sign up to our new virtual edition of The Big Step Forward – Pancreatic Cancer UK’s very own walking event!

Join us and hundreds of others on 25th July, as we walk physically apart but virtually together across the country, to fund pioneering research and stamp out pancreatic cancer.

Whatever the distance, every step you take will support world-class researchers to speed up diagnosis and improve treatments, transforming the future for the 10,000 people who are diagnosed with pancreatic cancer every year in the UK.

Whether you, a friend or family member are affected by the disease now, or you’re remembering someone you’ve lost, we can stand together to save lives.

You may be aware that The Big Step Forward was originally due to take place on 5th September in Beckenham Place Park. Please visit our FAQs page to understand more about the changes to The Big Step Foward.

Top Tips to having a great virtual Big Step Forward experience!

We'll walk physically apart but virtually together across the country, to fund pioneering research and stamp out pancreatic cancer.

Gather your friends and family to all sign up. You don’t have to be physically in the same place, to walk together.

We suggest that everyone walks 1 or 4 miles, but you can choose whatever distance you want.

Choose a walking route which is special to you and that you can easily get to on the day.

We're here to support you with your fundraising from the moment you sign up; providing all the tips and tools you'll need.

Join us live on Facebook throughout the day on 25th July, as we bring you entertainment and plenty of cheering support!

Take a moment of reflection during your walk, writing a personalised message and hanging it up somewhere special. Why not celebrate finishing the walk with a post-event picnic!

"Lynda was fortunate that the cancer was found early enough for her to have surgical treatment in January."

I wanted to do something to help others. We signed up to The Big Step Forward and roped in lots of friends. We all walked separately from each other on 16th May. It was so great to be able to do something all together, even if physically we had to be apart!
