This year my step dad was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in February and died on 11th March. It was a huge shock to us and we didn’t have time to comprehend the news before it was too late and we sadly lost him. Alan was as tough as old boots and fought to the end but to see the immense toll this horrible disease took on a fit 60 year old man in such a short time was completely heartbreaking.
Last year our family was planning a trip to Scotland, (my dads home country) and as part of the trip he really wanted to hike up Ben Nevis but like most things Covid got in the way and we didn’t make it. Now we want to take on this challenge for him and if along the way we can raise a little money to help pancreatic cancer research and treatments that would be great.
