Create Your Own Walk

This year people up and down the country will be taking steps to transform the future for people affected by pancreatic cancer.

Organising your own Big Step Forward walk is a great way to challenge yourself and raise money to fund research to save lives.

Whatever your ability or experience, on your own or as a group, you can take a stand against pancreatic cancer. Whether you, or a friend or family member are affected by the disease now or remembering someone you’ve lost, we can take steps together to demand a better future.

Sign-up to create your walk and we'll send you a free welcome pack including tips, ideas, a t-shirt and other goodies to make your Big Step Forward walk a success.

If you're creating your own walk and want to buy extra t-shirts for your friends and family joining you, just go to our online shop and order the amount you require. Additional t-shirts cost £5 each.

Six steps to planning your walk:

Choose a location

You can choose to do your walk in the city, along the coast or in the countryside. Just pick the perfect location for you. Remember to make sure it’s a safe walking location, and the route is accessible for you and your fellow walkers.

Decide on a distance

You can choose to walk any distance. This is your Big Step Forward so you can decide. Just make sure the route is accessible for you and your fellow walkers.

Pick a date

It’s up to you when you do your walk, but make sure you give yourself enough time to plan it and tell your friends and family.

Set a fundraising target

We’re asking everyone creating their own walk to raise a minimum of £100 to fund research and help to stamp out pancreatic cancer. You can of course aim higher than this if you want to. Just set your target and get started with your fundraising.

Tell people

Once you’ve planned your location, date and distance you can share the details with your friends and family and ask them to join you.

"On the Day of my Mum’s Whipple surgery my brother Daniel and I, decided to walk 24 miles for my mum and all those affected by pancreatic cancer - raising over £800!

Doing the walk helped me to cope with the events of that long, awful day; which then helped me to support our mum in her long gruelling recovery."
